I believe that everyone who submits sci papers is looking for journals with high influence, but some authors and friends will find that the submission requirements of the first, second and third areas of sci are quite high, which leads many authors and friends to go further and further on the road of submission. So what journal level does the fourth area of SCI belong to? Is it good to vote? Let's take a look at my sharing.
The four areas of SCI are the general journal level. SCI sorts all journals by impact factor, the top 5% is the first zone, the top 20% is the second zone, the top 50% is the third zone, and the rest is the fourth zone. The first area is generally the top journals in various fields, the second area is a high-level journal, the third area is the second, and the fourth area is ordinary.
1. Domestic authority generally refers to core journals or national journals with relatively large professional influence.
SCI journals in the fourth area are the journals with the lowest impact factor in the SCI journal division. They are relatively easy to publish in SCI journals. The higher the division, the higher the difficulty of publication. Therefore, the fourth area is relatively easy to publish. It is the core journal of NTU, and the difficulty of publication is also very high. Although the author may not have the problem of writing in English, the academic value of the article is the highest among domestic papers published. It can be said that it is on a par with sci journals. Core journals have a high threshold for publication, and some review cycles are longer than SCI journals, so some journals are more difficult to publish than SCI journals in the four regions.
2. The overall level of journals in the four regions of SCI is higher.
SCI core version: All the above articles are included in the SCI database, and are generally journals with relatively high impact factors.
SCI-E: Only some articles in this journal are included in the SCI database, and most of them are low-scoring journals.
The core journals generally include "Peking University Core Journals" (that is, the national Chinese core journals, now the 2011 edition, which was reviewed once every four years in the past, and now once every three years) and "Nanjing University Core Journals" (ie CSSCI, commonly known as the C journal, more than the core journals of Peking University. The influence is even greater, and the quality of the journal is better);
First-level journals refer to national-level journals, such as journals sponsored by national departments at all levels (this is difficult to define, a list of authoritative national-level journals can be found online); SCI (Science Citation Index), EI (Engineering Index), ISTP (Science and Technology Conference Proceedings Index) is a world-famous three major scientific and technological document retrieval systems, and is an internationally recognized main retrieval tool for scientific statistics and scientific evaluation, among which SCI is the most important.
