How to partition SCI papers?

SCI is an internationally renowned journal. Scholars are proud to publish papers in SCI journals, but what is the division of papers in SCI journals? The editor of this issue has sorted out some materials for you, hoping to solve your doubts.

SCI partition is to grade papers according to their grades. According to the influence factors, contribution difficulty and influence of the journal, it is divided into 1 ~ 4 areas: the first area is generally top journals in various fields, the second area is high-level journals, the third area is second, and the fourth area is more common.

At present, there are two kinds of SCI paper partitions, one is the Chinese Academy of Sciences partition, and the other is the JCR partition. The number of journals in the division of Chinese Academy of Sciences varies from zone 1 to zone 4, which is distributed in a pyramid shape. The first 5% is this type of zone 1, 6% ~ 20% is zone 2, 21% ~ 50% is zone 3, and the rest is zone 4. The size of JCR partitions is arranged in descending order, and the journals are divided into Q1, Q2, Q3, Q4 four partitions. The number of journals in each partition accounts for 25%, Q1 is the top 25%, which means a high level, and Q4 is the bottom 25%.

The division of Chinese Academy of Sciences in SCI paper division is different from that of JCR Division: different basis, division and classification.

  (1) The division of Chinese Academy of Sciences and JCR is based on different factors:

① SCI Zoning: SCI zoning is divided according to the average impact factors of the three-year editions of journals.

② JCR partition: JCR partition is to arrange the influence factors of all journals of a certain discipline in descending order, and then divide them equally.

  (2) The division of CAS and JCR is different:

① SCI Division: SCI division is divided into four divisions, and the proportion of each division is not equal. First division: Top 5%; Zone 2: 6% - 20%; Zone III: 21% - 50%; Zone 4: 51% - 100%.

② JCR zone: JCR zone is divided into four zones, and the proportion of each zone is equal. The first 25% (including 25%) is divided into zone 1, the first 25-50% (including 50%) is zone 2, the first 50-75% (including 75%) is zone 3, and 75% - 100% is zone 4.

  (3) The classification of CAS and JCR is different:

① SCI Division: Based on JCR division, SCI division combines 176 sub disciplines into 14 disciplines such as medicine and biology.

② JCR Division: JCR division classifies disciplines into 174 sub categories according to their majors.
