  About SHCS 2023
Scour is an important issue in the stability and protection design of hydraulic and coastal structures. Inappropriate scour design and evaluation may lead to failure of the structure, environmental pollution, and significant economic losses. Therefore, studies on this issue not only can provide scientific references for the design and maintenance of structural foundations, but also have significance in environmental improvement. Recent trends in climate change and anthropic pressure have highlighted again the fragility of our engineered environment. New researches into the scour and protection countermeasures around hydraulic and coastal structures in complex hydrodynamic environments will become more sophisticated and more challenging. The overall objective of this workshop is to provide an international platform for researchers to present and discuss recent advances and future challenges on “Scour around Hydraulic, Coastal Structures”.

Key Information
Please visit the workshop website and complete the online registration form, which will be available until August 25th. On-site registration will also be available for those who prefer to register in person at the workshop venue during the event.
All registered participants are encouraged to submit an abstract to the workshop for peer review. The author of accepted abstract will have the opportunity to deliver an oral presentation. The deadline for abstract submission is August 10th.
A poster competition is open to students and the top 10 outstanding poster presenters will be awarded certificates. The deadline for poster submission is August 15th. A poster template can be found on the workshop website.
An optional technical tour (September 7-8th) to Yanchen City (a coastal city 270 km northeast of Nanjing) will be held after the workshop. There will be an additional fee of 2000 RMB (280 USD) per person for joining the technical tour.

 Requirement of Abstract and E-Poster
Abstract
   You can download the abstract template by clicking here. Please ensure that the abstract does not exceed page in length and submit it in a Word file format. 
Poster
  The e-poster must adhere to the specified A1 size, measuring 594mm (width) × 841mm (height). The layout should  be meticulously arranged to ensure an aesthetically pleasing and organized presentation. All content should be  concise and fit within a single page. In addition to the main article, the poster should prominently display a title at  the top, followed by the author's name and affiliation below. It is crucial to use the Times New Roman font with a  minimum size of 18pt throughout the entire poster, which must be presented in English.
